About Team Watience
Welcome to Team Watience – a heartfelt space born from my journey honoring my son, Hadi. In this space, I navigate life’s challenges – from the heartache of losing a child to the complexities of divorce and a home fire, all within one year.
I’m a parent, bone marrow awareness advocate, proud Muslim, Kansan, mom of twins, warrior mom to an aplastic anemia fighter, resilient divorcée, event manager, and an authentic writer.
Team Watience shares honest stories, embracing life’s raw moments. We believe in the power of resilience and find unexpected beauty in challenges. Join us on our grief journey, where diverse roles and shared stories connect us all. Life is a journey, and Team Watience is here to share, support, and inspire.
Aplastic Anemia
About Aplastic Anemia – A Rare And Serious Condition
Aplastic anemia occurs when one’s bone marrow is unable to produce enough red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. These cells play key roles, such as carrying oxygen, fighting infections, and preventing bleeding.
Aplastic anemia is categorized based on its severity – moderate, severe, and very severe. Understanding and raising awareness about severe aplastic anemia is crucial for those affected and their support networks.
Join us in the fight against aplastic anemia. Whether through a monetary contribution or dedicating your time, there are several ways to get involved.
Your donation aids in financing essential research, pushing us closer to discovering a cure. Additionally, we extend our support to aplastic anemia families by providing practical assistance, such as groceries, and even offering thoughtful gifts like Nintendo Switches. We also create care packages tailored for aplastic anemia patients, their parents, and caregivers.
Your contribution, big or small, makes a meaningful impact. Help us make a difference in the lives of those affected by aplastic anemia.

I carried twins to term and I endured watching my child intubated yet returning a RedBox movie scares me. What if I don’t put it in right? What if I screw up the disc and the machine and then nobody will be able to rent movies! The struggle is real y’all. Y’all…when did I start using that word and no,

T-Town-A Happening Place
Yep, proud to be from Topeka, Kansas. I was all sorts of giddy listening to Harriet Lerner on Brene Brown’s episode and her introduction mentioning her time at Menniger Foundation in Topeka. That being said, I honestly can’t remember if I ever saw her son, Ben Lerner debate.

Episode IX
June 7th. Hadi and Zakari’s birthday. I always wanted to make sure my twins were seen as two separate beautiful human beings. I rarely dressed them in matching outfits and I tried to make sure I honored their differences. There were usually two cakes, one chocolate for Zakaria and one vanilla for Hadi

“Well, I am still in awe of you”-Guiding Light, Mumford and Sons
I am watching the Wonder Years and it’s fascinating how timeless of a show it is.
Looking forward to being back in MY house. Don’t let Zakaria hear me call it my house…it is our house but you get my drift.Front Royal, Virginia is not exactly where I was expecting to see a Black Lives Matter event

Dark clouds may hang on me sometimes…
Damn, Dave. You still move my soul in a way that’s indescribable. The words hit differently than they did back in college. Maybe it’s because Boone’s isn’t involved. Merriweather Post Pavilion with neighbors who have seen me through the loss of Hadi and a tough divorce, along with their three amazing kids on a

ISNA
Who knew that a quinoa cookie could actually be kinda tasty? Then again, I am exhausted in only the way ISNA can make you and I might feel differently about a quinoa cookie if I was on less than four hours of sleep. O’Hare was surprisingly not horrible this morning and I am glad I took a 7am flight.
