In September of 2017, a seemingly innocent incident where Hadi’s twin brother playfully threw a book unraveled a profound chapter in our lives. Initially dismissing a black eye as a minor mishap, we soon discovered additional bruises on Hadi’s back. This marked the beginning of an unexpected journey.
After a thorough examination at Fairfax INOVA hospital, the diagnosis was clear –severe aplastic anemia. Our world shifted, and amidst the uncertainties, “Team Watience” emerged. This loss of a child made us realize how many people have a battle against aplastic anemia, and Hadi faced it with a resilience that inspired everyone around him. In Loving Memory of Hadi Abdur Rashid June 7, 2011 – October 21, 2018 Hadi may no longer be with us, but his spirit lives on through Team Watience. This page is a tribute to his courage and an acknowledgment of the struggles faced by parents navigating aplastic anemia symptoms and grief. |
